On 1 July 2019, the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) brought together the former departments of Family and Community Services (FACS) and Justice.

FACS is the main NSW Government department that puts this law into practice in partnership with other government departments, non-government organisations (NGOs) and the community. The NSW Practice Framework shows how FACS works with children, young people and families in NSW.
