Switch ON the machine by pushing the Power button.
What is a normal bladder scan?
Bladder scan normal values form the baseline of interpreting the results of a bladder scan. A volume of 50ml of urine or less is considered to be adequate bladder emptying. This baseline rises to 100 ml in the elderly. A PVR volume of more than 200 ml is generally considered abnormal.
How to use bladder scan?
Turn on the bladder scanner system. This may be a CT scanner or an Ultrasound Scanner.
What is a bladder scan machine?
In continence management, the bladder scanner’s primary role is to measure pre- and post-void residual urine, thus determining bladder volume and, potentially, identifying incomplete bladder emptying. If the scan is unclear or inconclusive, or if an abnormality is identified, the patient should be referred for further investigation.
